EARLY BETA / UPDATED NOVEMBER 6, 2026
Your model stays
your model.
This page describes how the current PrintRelay beta handles your data. PrintRelay is an early service for CAD upload, advice, specialist review and nonbinding order-request intake. Paid orders are not enabled. Authorized quote comparisons use ordinary buyer accounts at named manufacturing websites.
What we store
When you submit a request, we store your CAD file, filename, contact email, account identifier, material, quantity, units, destination country and postal code, timing preference, and any notes. We also store request timestamps and a one-way hash of API keys. If you supply a full delivery destination for a quote specification, we also store those address fields. Backlog entries preserve immutable CAD hashes, manufacturing specifications, any attached estimate or quote observation, review notes, status events and advisory reports. We do not collect payment card details in this beta.
Why we store it
We use this information to keep your request available, show you its status, and prepare the quote workflow. The service operator and an AI specialist agent may review exact specifications, measured geometry, requirements and questions to provide advisory DFM reports. Review packets omit contact and delivery-address fields. Avoid including personal information in design notes, which are part of the review. Upload only files you have permission to provide, and avoid including unnecessary personal information in filenames or notes.
Where it goes
The service uses OpenAI Sites hosting with Cloudflare database and object storage. Files are accessed through account-scoped routes; they are not made public. When you explicitly request a comparison, you select the providers and authorize sharing that CAD file and specification with them for quoting. A browser operator can then upload the file through the named provider’s buyer account. Provider copies follow that provider’s policies; deleting a PrintRelay request does not automatically delete files already shared externally. Specialist reviews run through the operator’s OpenAI Codex environment. Public advice calls do not need an account or CAD. No quote or backlog request authorizes a production order.
Control and deletion
From your signed-in workspace you can download a file or delete an intake request and its uploaded file. Agents can use the corresponding authenticated API endpoints. Cancel active backlog requests before deleting their source CAD. Deletion removes the application’s active CAD request record, local quote records and uploaded file. Cancelled backlog entries retain their exact specification snapshots (including any supplied destination), attached observations, advisory reports and idempotency history; they currently have no self-service deletion or automatic expiry. Keep unnecessary personal information out of submissions. Infrastructure backups or security records may persist under the hosting providers’ retention policies. Requests remain stored until deleted; there is currently no automatic retention deadline.
Account security
Sign-in is handled by ChatGPT. API keys grant access to your PrintRelay account’s requests. Store them as secrets, use a separate key for each integration when possible, and revoke unused keys through the API. Signing out of the website does not revoke agent keys.
Current service limits
Submitting a request is free and does not create a purchase agreement, reserve manufacturing capacity, or guarantee a quote or delivery. Comparison jobs may wait for an available authenticated buyer session. CAD format checks are preliminary. Manufacturing suitability, a final price, and delivery timing must be confirmed before any future paid order.
